FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Westbury and Evergreen announce partnership agreement
Evergreen to add Westbury’s SMI 2011 to software offering

Cambridge, MA, June 22nd, 2011 – Westbury and Evergreen today announced a partnership agreement that will allow Evergreen to resell SMI 2011, the reporting solution for HP Service Management Center.

Evergreen, an IT consulting and technology solutions provider based in Sterling, VA, will add SMI 2011 to its portfolio of IT Service Management products, offering it to new and existing customers with HP Service Manager and HP Asset Manager implementations.

SMI 2011 is the HP-approved reporting solution for HP Service Manager, described by HP Product Management Director Jacques Conand as “a key off the shelf solution for HP Service Manager customers, providing ad-hoc, operational reporting that is powerful, user friendly and flexible.” SMI 2011 puts the power of reporting in the hands of the people who need it most – IT managers, process owners and end users.

Floris Verschoor, CEO of Westbury, says:
“The partnership with Evergreen is an important step in extending our network of partners. It allows us to bring SMI 2011 to a wider audience and add the expertise of the Evergreen professional services organization to our offering. They understand the unique value proposition of SMI 2011 and are well placed to be a key factor in its ongoing success as the reporting solution for Service Manager.”

According to Don Casson, Evergreen’s CEO, “Evergreen’s focus is delivering measurable business value for our clients. Significant opportunities exist for reducing, eliminating, or automating the work of IT while also improving service quality. Westbury’s SMI 2011 solution easily brings to light actionable management information –with deep analysis and in depth trending over time. With it, we can help our clients to drive cost out and service quality up.”

We’re (almost) all here in Las Vegas, and getting ready for tomorrow’s start of the 2011 HP Discover show.

This year is the first year HP has combined the software and hardware shows – and you can tell. The exhibition space is almost unimaginably vast, and we really hope everyone who’s interested in learning more about reporting from HP Service Manager is able to find us okay.

We’re expecting some heavy foot traffic on the booth, and as per usual, we’ll be keeping Westblog updated throughout the week with lots of video stuff and our thoughts on how the show is going. We’ll also be fully active in what is expected to be a very noisy social media conversation. Keep your eyes on the official show hashtag #HPDiscover.

Everyone at Westbury has been working extremely hard for months to bring this new product to market, and we’re all extremely proud about how it has turned out. Rather than updating and tweaking the last version of SMI Suite, we rebuilt the architecture of the solution from scratch, and the result is a massive improvement in the way the solution is installed, configured, administered and used.

What’s new in SMI 2011?

SMI 2011 is full of new features and functionality, which combine to make it the most robust yet adaptable, easy-to-use yet powerful solution we’ve ever released.

Some highlights include:
◦ Support for all HP Service Manager processes
◦ More startup reports
◦ New universe structure
◦ A low maintenance, UI-led back end
◦ Reduced load/sync times
◦ Meta data
◦ Future support for HP Asset Manager, HP uCMDB, HP PPM

In the next couple of weeks we’ll be filling in the details on what all of these new features mean – keep your eye on Westblog for posts explaining each point in depth.

We’ll also be releasing a host of new video tutorials for those using SMI 2011, as well as a new series on the blog called ‘Anatomy of a Report’ where I’ll show you how to build some of the bundled startup reports from scratch.

In the meantime, our website, westbury-it.com, now has a wealth of information about SMI 2011. To arrange a personal demo of the solution, fill out the form here, or email us at info@westbury-it.com with your name and contact details.

Anyone attending the HP Discover show in Las Vegas next month will be able to visit our booth on the exhibition floor and get a hands-on look at the solution – we look forward to seeing you there.

Reasons for reporting on your service management data is re-emphasized in the latest Gartner Magic Quadrant for the IT Service Desk November 2010:
“Your vendor of choice should provide and implement meaningful measurements and reportable content from day one of production. The ability to quickly and correctly measure key IT service and support metrics, such as mean time to repair (MTTR), first contact resolution (FCR) rate, end-user satisfaction, cost per calls and so forth, should be the most important criteria when choosing a new tool, and having access to that data is essential for the IT service and support organizations to justify further improvements.”

During the HP Universe 2010 in Barcelona, November 30th – December 2nd, Westbury will, of course, be present to showcase the operational reporting solution for HP service management software, SMI Suite. We’re at booth C03 – come and say hello!

On Wednesday December 1st at 09.00 AM (Room P1-128) during an interactive (that’s up to you!) presentation I will dive into:
•	The challenges of reporting (getting the right information at the right time)
•	The requirements of reporting (easy, fast, cost effective)
•	The solution for reporting (and the difference compared to other reporting technologies)
•	Live demo showcasing how the solution ensures access to the data that is essential for the IT service and support organizations to justify further improvements

See you there!

- Which exhibition vendor is going to have the best giveaways?

With the release of HP Service Manager 9.20, HP not only released an update for Service Manager but also an alignment in version numbering with the BTO Suite. So it is release 7.20 renumbered. They did a tremendous job in improving the user interface by releasing an updated web user interface. They improved quality and performance on both the client and server side. HP improved the integration capabilities with the BTO suite on CLIP & CCRM, KM and change. Now they support the BTO incident data model.

Service Manager offers dashboards that can give you a real time overview of possible SLA breaches, open incidents by service, priority or location. This gives management a clear overview on how it is doing right now.

SMI Suite offers you a service management reporting solution that extends this dashboard feature in such a way that reports can be shared with others with a user friendly intuitive interface with drag and drop functionality. They can be incorporated in documents, PowerPoint presentations and even can be refreshed on the fly. Additionally one can drill down to the details of the underlying records a report is based on. To avoid heavy queries on the database during working hours, SMI Suite offers automatic scheduling and distribution of reports.

Tomorrow the show proper kicks off and we’ll be manning booth 409 in the exhibition hall – make sure you stop by and say hello.

Throughout this week I’ll be blogging – including some video blogging if I can get my laptop to play nice – and we’ll be tweeting more than than Ashton Kutcher, Diddy and Stephen Fry put together. Watch this space!

It’s not wrong to fear change. It’s a perfectly natural, evolutionarily-driven response.

But sometimes you have to embrace change. Like, when Westbury launches a brand-spanking-new website and Westblog site on the same day. Sure, everything’s new and different and you didn’t think there was anything wrong with the old sites, but you can’t stand in the way of progress.

The new main site – http://westbury-it.com – has been radically redesigned, from the bottom up, to more closely match our main marketing message – that we’re the vendor behind the operational reporting solution for HP Service Manager. We’re trying to keep things clear and simple, so the look and feel of the new site is also clean and spare, with some subtle gradients and limited use of bold color.

The Westblog site picks up where the main site left off, but with a few different touches to make it clear that you’re looking at a separate site.

The timing for the launch is no coincidence – we’re ramping up for the HP Software Universe 2010 show next week, and we’re hoping that many of the show’s attendees notice and take a look at the new site.

We’d love to know what you think about the redesign – let us know in the comments below or tweet us @westbury_it.
